track changing /ff

The left toggle switch on the steering wheel (mk 3)
is controlling the volume ok
is controlling the channel changes on the radio ok
it was controlling the track changes and FF on the I phone ok
but has in the last couple of days stopped
Any suggestions please
It does not change tracks either via blue tooth or hard wired

soz m8 havent got a clue how to gain access to the button,wondering if theres a bit of crud found its way in?

maybe a blast of compressed air around the button may work?
