Moving the Front Parking sensor Speaker - will this work?

I'm having difficulty hearing the speaker for the front parking sensors and more difficulty telling the difference between the front and rear audio warning, so I want to re-home the speaker under or on the dash at the front.

I'm contemplating different methods but does anyone with more idea than me, have any reasons why there may be issues please?

Methods:
1. (Favourite) Disconnect the speaker under the seat, extend the wires to the dashboard and splice in to the speaker I have mounted there for my Bluetooth hands-free kit.

2. Extend the wires from under the seat to the original speaker that could be re-housed either just behind the dash or near the air duct outlet by the driver's footwell.

thanks

Can't see a problem either way, never heard or had need to move the sounder nearer, I usually just turn the radio down :)

Find someone with VCDS Full, you can adjust both the volume and tone for front and rear sounders with it ;)

Well Dang me, Mirez, is there anything you don't know?  :P

I have VAG-COM, though I only know how to read codes and delete them.  Please could you tell me which part I need to access to make the changes please?

I also came up with another idea . . . . .

Would there be any detrimental effect to anything if I got rid of the Bluetooth handsfree speaker and routed it's wires, along with the parking sensor beeper wires, to the front dashboard radio speaker?  That would make a really neat job.  Only issue I could see would be if the radio was playing and the park sensors came on, would that put too many litres / kilos / ohms / amps or whatever it is, through that speaker?

If the radio is on and there is a call on the HF, the radio will mute anyway (If I can find the flippin' mute wire  ???  Any ideas Mr M?

Almost certainly ;)

You need to look at "Adaptation" (right side) and then it's in there - IIRC you need a full version though as the lite one can't use this module.

Connecting to a radio speaker would be a bad, bad BAD idea. Not only are the dash speakers tweeters (no base, or middle - just treble) you'll increase impedance on that one channel by adding circuits to it which potentially could damage the head unit. It's also quite possible to blow the parking sensor module if you shove 25W of music back up its line.

Thanks again for your advice / insight.  I'll go down the "Adding to the handsfree speaker" route then.

Well, I guess you could swap out the stock speaker for a bigger one, though resistance etc would be a factor.  I still favour moving either the stock speaker to under the dash or using a separate speaker, dash-mounted and shared with the handsfree kit.

The other thing you are missing here is that the PDC controller designed to output to a piezo sounder and not a speaker. If it dosn't blow up on first use then its going to be significantly QUIETER then it is now trying to drive a speaker!

All advice considered, I've located the stock speaker under the dashboard speaker grille, out of sight and nice and loud, now to see if I can quieten it down  ::)

thanks y'all
