inlet manifold query

Hi all
I have a 115 hp(ahu?) Pd engined mk2
Would fitting the inlet manifold frkm a 130/150 give any performance benefits?
Will it even fit?

Asking as im finally plucking up courage to tackle cleaning inlet manifold and id rather have one ready cleaned to just fit straitaway rather than having to dig out the only one ive got

None. Unlike deployments in other VW vehicles, the PD Engine on the Galaxy has the same manifold for the 115, 130 and 150 engines so there is no gain to be had. Plenty about on line though and it is definitely easier to have a spare for a simple swap n' go

Thanks fir the reply Mirez , just to clarify it wont matter what engine code ahy ahz they are listed for on tge bay ,tgey all fit

Had a good look on ebay and while most are a "standard" tubular casring there are a ciupke of flat box like looking jobbies listed for my year (2001)
Would these be for the mk1?

Yeah they are the mk1 versions. You need one from a AUY, ASZ or BTB engine as they are the diesel plants fitted to the Galaxy.

Thanks again mark , current plan is inspection camera (wanted excuse to buy one:-)) then give  my local garage a cleaned manifold and gasket to fit so i just pay the labour

Update time!

Bit the bullet and paid my local garage Ã,£150 to change the manifold id already bought and cleaned yesterday was the day:-)
Too early to tell but does seem more responsive and quieter, tho it could be i just want it to be improved !
Back to work tommorow so i can try it on a known journey with known fuel consumption
As an aside the one that came off was gummed up with around 4-5mm of crap at tge egr end and not as much on the cylinder head end
If its improved maybe a k&n filter and a more expensive tuning box to repkace the cheapy thats already on it

When i get chance ill try to stick some pics up of the old manifold

That's not so bad price-wise. You need to either replace or clean the EGR valve though else you won't get anywhere near the benefits as you will still have a restriction in place.

K&N's are apparently a big no-no for the TDI engine as the oil contaminates the MAF and causes failure.

Thanks for the headsup on the filter!
Shouldve asked them to ensure the egr was clean before they refitted it, doh!!
I had a blanking plate in the box i gave them but they wouldnt fit it as reckoned it will throw up errorcodes
