Just come back from a week in Bude with the camper. Towed down there really well, it was my first time and the how to on here for towing etc... was invaluable in getting the Alhambra setup.

Anyway, while I was down there the Alternator packed up! Got a couple of quotes and it was going to cost roughly Ã,£400 fitted so I decided to have a go at it myself. Found a GSF Car Parts who had one in stock and changed it in their Car Park. Took roughly 2 hours and only cost be Ã,£168 after the cost of my old one was taken off the bill. My hands, arms and even my head are bruised and battered but I am well chuffed that I managed to do it myself.  ;D

Good work Dan! And a substantial saving as well, albeit at the cost of a chuck of holiday :)

No idea to be honest. The Battery light came on in the dash, I managed to get to a Petrol station just as all electronic systems  started to close down. Called the RAC and when the guy came out he checked the Battery voltage and that was fine, the Alternator was about 6 volts or something like that and it wasn't charging the battery.
