Well, as I am sure enough people have had this issue before me I am hoping for some guidance/photographs....

I had the washer hose split - and dried out the PDC unit at the time... had 3 faults showing on VCDS so gave up.
Yesterday I cracked the unit open (Do a lot of electronic repair phones/tablets/laptops etc etc.) and noticed a lot of corrosion, so I have cleaned down with surgical spirit and flux (Expensive wash for a circuit board but hey, i want my parking sensors back!) i now only have 1 fault code showing when i clear them
VCDS says -
1 Fault Found:

01543 -  Parking Aid Warning Chime (H15)

31-00 -  Open or Short to Ground

any one got any clues/pictures of what i should be looking for? (Speaker in the rear of the car is fine, as is the front one now...)

Good work :)

It might be worth swapping over the front and rear chime units (they are the same) just to rule out the chime unit and then maybe a continuity check on the wiring?

tried with rear disconnected - will try swapping and report back - would be lovely if that was the answer :)

tried swapping - got 3 error codes back  >:(

just taken unit out again - had some activity from the front sound unit earlier so I know I'm getting close, just switch cleanered a bit i missed as it was scaled - also noticed scale on a few pin so cleaned them too
