HI

Can someone help me please.

I have an 04 plate registered in 2005 galaxy mk 2 115bhp.  My heater control panel does not seem to work.  only the heater blower fan switch works,  The ac button, rear heater main switch, air recirculate, blow direction and temperature control buttons or knobs do not work.  At the same time as this went faulty my clock also stopped working.  The lights on the panel do not work either.  It was intermittent at first were it would work at times and at times it flickered as in would come on and off pretty rapidly then eventually died completely.

Any ideas?

I would start by investigating the wiring in the tailgate rubber. The problems you describe are all common to a few circuits which are prpbably shorting out in the tailgate rubbers. I suspect you have a blown fuse as a result and the flickering you saw was the circuit being powered by a short instead.

heater panel fix;
remove dials, pop off front panel, remove 4 x small torx screws and bring unit out of dash.
disconnect huge multiplug and small one-----------now put the ignition on ---even though panels disconnected, count to 10...........
turn ignition off again and refit everything, now try the panel it should be ok.

Hi thanks for replies
Will try powering up with panel disconnected tomorrow.  Will let you know outcome
All fuses are ok
How do you access wiring in tailgate rubber.  That will be my next port of call if above don't work
Also developed brake light fault whilst messing weigh relays and fuse panel

Right just an update
I tried the reset solution (unplug turn on ignition for 10 secs turn off and reconnect) unfortunately that didnt help.  Sorted brake lights out new switch and also a missing fuse for some bizzare reason.
Can some one point me in right direction for tailgate rubbers is it the two wiring looms that go from

Either shide of the body into the tailgate door.  I had a feel round there but to be honest felt ok.  I think its a relay fault but its poonting to the right one.  Anybody any ideas

You need to visually inspect the wires - feeling unfortunately won't yield much info. You'll have to pop the rubber's end off the clip (do the taligate end as it's easier!) then slide the convoluted part back as far as it will go to expose the wiring.

Hi
Checked the wiring as well now.  The wiring is ok no breaks or shorts anywhere all in good condition.  Fault still not rectified.  Someone somewhere must have had this fault repaired.  Just cant put my finger on it.

did you do the wiring in the doors 2? I had a very similar issue which was wiring in the passenger door
