2004 Galaxy 130
AC stopped working so took it for testing and hopefully just a regass but they didnt fill it as they suspected a pressure switch failure not enabling the clutch so its currently un-pressurised

Ran VCDS lite and got 16917/P0533 and the look up table says
"A/C circuit pressure sensor-G65: signal too high"
I cleared the faults and scanned it again and it reappeared immediately so it's more than likely that
or a wiring/connector issue.

I see the switches for sale online and will order one but where is the damn thing?
any tips, tricks and cunning wheezes to replacing it?

It's in the pipework behind and below the drivers side headlight. I've changed a few in the day and it's easy to do, just can't remember if you remove the headlight of arch liner for the best aceess - think it's the liner and it's immediately accessible.

Right
So I get and fit a pukka pressure switch
now the code has changed from
16917
"A/C circuit pressure sensor-G65: signal too high"
to
16916
"A/C circuit pressure sensor-G65: signal too low"

Which I'm hoping is because there isnt any pressure
right now as it's been vented during testing and while awaiting the new switch.

BTW
Jacked up with front O/S wheel off and then removing a few of the the forward screws meant
the front inner arch lining can be moved out of the way for easy access to the switch
Use 2 spanners so the pipe isnt stressed!!

Yes that's the code you'd expect if the system is empty - time for a pressure test!

I took it back today and it pressure tested ok and was regassed
Some slight confusion when they tried to quiz the system until I told them it
was basically VW not Ford then it all worked OK.
Job done I hope.
