new 71ah battery.. goes flat in 48 hours!

disconnected faulty CD changer.. would this cure the fault? ... cables seem fine.. any advice greatly received!!!

Hi

You could connect an ammeter in series with the battery to see how much of a drain there is, then reconnect the cd changer and see if the drain increases significantly.  If it does then the cd changer is the problem.  If not - you will need to remove the fuses one by one, checking the reading on the ammeter each time until you find the one that removes the drain - this will be your faulty circuit.

It would be best to do this with a fully charged battery and the ignition switched off.

I meant to add that if its not the cd changer the next most probable cause would be the alternator so I would check it out first, if not then I would carry out the ammeter tests on the fusebox.

Did the old battery go flat quickly too? If not then itââ,¬â,,¢s probabky a duff battery. Just take it back and get a new one from somewhere else that has better quality control processes
