Hi not sure if anybody has managed this but would like a beep or Horn chirp when arming the vehicle as can never tell if the car is armed without looking at the Indicators when arming , I know this is possible on VCDS of other VAG vehicles .

Yes that would be a very handy feature

I always pull the handles before I walk off
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

My advice is donââ,¬â,,¢t do it,I have an Alfa that does beeps when locking or unlocking and it is so annoying. Drives me nuts but I refuse to give Alfa Romeo Ã,£60 for the security code to enable me to change alarm setting to Dutch to get rid of the beeps

Hi I donââ,¬â,,¢t mind the beeps as confirmation when locking not fussed about when unlocking , I do have software and in the past I have enabled the beeps etc when locking of VAG motors but could not find a how to for the Alhambra .

You can enable it within central electronics 09 - it's not the same as true VW cars though that use a separate alarm module, the FordVW method uses a horn just like the vehicle horn and gives you a proper Honk when enabled so you'll look like a cheap Kia or Chevy!

I have for some time been considering fitting a musical horn, I wonder if it would work with that.

No for three reasons:

1) The alarm horn is separate from the vehicle horn
2) The pulse provided at lock would only play the first tone of the musical horn
3) The police will find out where you live and come and remove it for violation of taste and decency :P

Ok I don't suppose you know the coding for this?

I know for example my Dads 1996 Audi A4 B5 when locking honks the horn briefly when locking. Think they all did it for few years before they went to a siren .
