I've been looking at this thread regarding soft coding for the instruments.

https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-common-faults-and-problems/vcds-vagcom-coding/

My current code is 10421, if I change it to say 04 or 05421 the central display just shows the outside temp and all my average mpg etc disappears lol.

Am I missing something?

Just trying to disable the whole seatbelt warning and alarm stuff.

Ok just a little update, it seems the 08 must do the screen, I've changed it to 12421 which seems to have switched off the seat belt warning but hopefully switched on the screenwash warning.

I did try switching on the brake pad warning but it just goes of straight away, either the rear pad has disappeared in record time or there's a broken wire somewhere lol

You add them together not just on there own but unless you have the kit it wont work as its just an on/off toggle. The car needs to have the brake pad sensors and wiring installed and the low screenwash sensor installed.

When the Ford/VW partnership ended in 2005, VW changed a number of things including the cluster manufacturer. Anything past 05/06 can be a little weird on the Sharan/Alhambra when it comes to soft coding!

They are installed, I thought about it after and wondered, what if the pads really are low and they were! Last night out there with my head torch changing out the front pads lol

I can't think why anyone would disable that function!

Ain't that the truth! I had a short earlier last year that kept popping a fuse and taking out the fuel pump and N75 but all the lists I could find for the fuse were incorrect.

Anyway in the end I just added a long wire with spade terminal, plugged it in the fuse box and other end to ground. Then wiggled all the wiring till the ohms went funky lol

Ended up being an egr wire had rubbed through against the manifold.
