Any comments on fuel additives
diesel in my case
do they work
or do they damage seals in the fuel system?
was looking at Lucas UCL
interesting
or possibly Forte

To do what exactly?

The only one I've ever used was a commercial grade injector cleaner - normal additives shouldn't be needed.

just a feeling that injectors could do with a cleanup

However just did an italian tune up over 70 miles yesterday and will see if any improvement next time on the road.

I always use Redex on my lawnmower, it is very good at cleaning out a blocked up carb.

It is on sale in tescos at the moment so why not treat yourself and put a bottle in.
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

 Hi ,
Regarding engine clean up, i use the best super diesel i can afford at the time(BP Ultimate,Esso Supreme,Shell  Optimax), my 12plate 1.6 tdi absolutely loves shell or esso super diesels , iv also added a good splash of Millers Diesel Power Ecomax -Halfords/ebay around Ã,£13. Iv got 110,000 on mine at the mo and your 'italian' tune up is something i do when shes sluggish on pull away and generally slow responce , on a motorway 4th gear at 65mph for about 20mins normally does mine the world of good.
Hope this helps.

Additional...

Millers fuel additive is just a personal choice iv been using it for years on me different cars over time both petrol and diesel.
Forte , Tec 4 , Wynns Professional range are all bloody good too , i particularly like to use Wynns  but iv been getting Millers cheap. im currently running my blue lady on shell optimax and a mix of millers dpf cleaner , millers optimax and a splash on ZX1 extralube in the tank- shes banging along at 65mph up hill and down dale almost 100miles each 2/3 times week so the mix wont last long.

I tried using the Wynnââ,¬â,,¢s turbo cleaner once but it didnââ,¬â,,¢t seem to do anything
