Mystery coolant pipe

I wonder if anyone recognises this coolant pipe. Its off my MK1 Galaxy and has a hole in it, but the correct replacement is totally different for the VIN.
I suspect an engine change at some point.
The nearest match on the basis of a picture is from a Sharan sycro.
The head has VW P4 Poland cast into it and 038103373R  V 411
and the block
038AN 80 HBH   V1500

If I can identify the original fitment I might be able to get the pipe. Otherwise its a repair which given the huge difficulty I had getting it off I really dont want to risk.

To identify the engine you have you need the code from the sticker attached to the top of the cam belt cover.
Typical codes for the 1.9TDI are starting with the earliest.

That looks like AUY to me which would mean it's a MK2 galaxy with the 115 PD engine.
What year and month is your car?
And is the pipe in the picture the one your replacing?

Could you maybe just find someone on ebays who is breaking a car like yours and ask them to give u that bit (even if I donââ,¬â,,¢t know what it is called)?

Oftentimes I do repairs on my car without having any idea what the parts do. But if I make it work just like the car that does work then it seems to work fine again. Itââ,¬â,,¢s a crude way of fixing a vehicle but so long as it works and so long as itââ,¬â,,¢s definitely not a safety concern it does seem to be an approach which works - for me, at least! I once dealt with a clunking from under the engine just by replacing bits until it stopped. Some may say thatââ,¬â,,¢s a bodgerââ,¬â,,¢s approach but what I would say is that the garages couldnââ,¬â,,¢t fix it even with all their expertise but I did. He he
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

Thanks Chris, yes thats the one I took off with an almighty struggle. Even the gear linkage had to come off.
The car is Portuguese reg 6 2002 but from the reg the part is completely different. It might have had a different engine fitted. The only similar looking one IÃ,´ve seen on ebay is from a VW Sharan Syncro but even that has a couple of extra spouts.
I am in deep shit here as there are not the resources for used parts like in the UK.
I hoped someone might recognise it as the fitment on their own vehicle and get me something to search on.

The part number is stamped on it but vey difficult to read, this clears it up
