Iââ,¬â,,¢d got quite used to driving with low power, down to first on some hills, no overtaking and causing delay an frustration to everyone behind.
I donââ,¬â,,¢t understand why a crippling malfunction doesnââ,¬â,,¢t generate a code by the way.
Anyway I had a front wheel come loose, it only had four wheel bolts a legacy from the Portuguese gypsies who sold it to me. While the wheel was off I noticed the turbo vacuum line was resting on the driveshaft coupling.
Considering the whole area is soaked in oil from numerous leaks and the contact can only be light I was amazed to find it had worn a hole in the line.
I mean how long must that have taken? A decade I reckon.
Performance is of course transformed, but so is fuel consumption. I think I preferred it as it was.

There are two quite small retaining clips 6-8" apart on the back of the hard plastic vertical air intake pipe, quite hard to get to but they do keep the vacuum pipe from fouling the driveshaft.

Probably nowhere near as long as you might think! It's a rigid plastic and won't be super thick either, couple that with a hard surface on a fixed point and the oscillations that occur will wear through fairly quickly.

Its a double edged sword really, the 1.9 isn't picky and rarely throws an error code even when sometimes it would be better if it did! :)
