Hi friends, what are your top tips for buying a used car?

[GL]
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

Here is tip no. 1:

If the seller tries to pressurise you by saying he has another viewer coming from many miles away within the next hour or so, you know you are dealing with a canny one. Be extra careful.

Take a cynical or at least sensible friend with you.
I really ought to know better but have been an impulsive mug at times
and gone all
"Ooh! look at the shiny things"
and bought a pile of old cack I really should have walked/run away from.

Very wise tip, always check everything and donââ,¬â,,¢t look too eager
