Screws for Air Box

Hello, me again!

Does anyone know where I can buy some of those long screws that hold the lid down on the air filter box?

My car once went to a dealership for a service and they rounded off the screws... I think they used a posidrive screwdriver when they should have used a phillips, or something like that. You know how garages can be.

The breakers yard only wants to sell me a whole new air box and the people on eBay don't really understand what I'm describing. Naturally, the dealerships I've tried calling for parts don't know their rear end from their elbow and can't even transfer the phone call from reception to the parts department, so no hope there.

Any ideas where I could get them would be very much appreciated!

Thank you all again.

The screws on mine are in a similar state, I think I ended up using a woodscrew to replace one of them. These might be what your after?

I'd be inclined at that price, to take one from your box to somewhere that sells general nuts and bolts and try to source something with the same thread that will do the job.

This thread might be worth a look as it gives some specs for the type of thread https://talkford.com/community/topic/319458-ford-airboxair-housing-replacement-screws/

They aren't shown as a part number on microcat, least not as far as i can find, so I can't confirm the one above is completely correct!

Thank you very much!

Good idea about the wood screws actually... I think something simple like that may well do the job just fine actually!

Mine were pretty chewed up so just removed them from the cover,
held them in a vise and ran a hacksaw along one axis about 2-3mm deep
then put them back in the cover, job done.
Now I can get them in/out easily with a long handled fat blade screwdriver

Just did that and it works a treat! He he he! Thank u all!
