Hi Everyone, I need to know how to access the relay panel on my VW Sharan 55

I have a problem with the Sharan when I turn off the ignition sometimes it will not start the engine, the only warning light showing is the bulb failure light. Also the clock and the resettable miles reading reset to zero. From searches on the web it would seem to be relay 109, but I'm    not sure if I have that relay on the relay board. I have stripped down the covers, and removed all the screws I can see, but the fuse panel refuses to drop down. Any Ideas. (I can see a 456 relay)

The information supplied was excellent, (I assumed that a 55 registration was going to be a later version than the galaxy models) The photos show how to remove the middle junction panel, but despite removing the top fixing screw, and unclipping the 2 plastic securing clips, I could not lift out this panel, and I could not see what was stopping it being removed. Alas time ran out and I will try again later. Thank you for the information supplied.

Just to clarify, which bit are you struggling with? Physically getting the fusebox to drop down so that you can separate the tiers of relays? All the wiring connectors and looms going into the fusebox can make it tough to release but once the top bolt is removed and the lower clips released it should be possible to lift it clear of the bracket. It's been a while since I last had to drop mine down but as I recall (somebody may be able to confirm this) those lower clips possibly need to be swivelled through 90 degrees before the fusebox will lift out?

The bit thats usually the most difficult is the last step - there are two lugs one either side of the fusebox near those two clips that sit in the metal brackets. You need to lift the box up to get it out, to do that there are two spring loaded pegs one either side, careful use of a screwdriver will allow you to lever them to a point where they will move from their holes in the frame, once you've done that you should then be able to lift the box up and drop it down

Note that if its never been out before, you might have a cable tie holding it in place somewhere on the cables that you need to remove though.
