Hi.
Is your ESP button red?
Mine is always red but I have no warnings on the dashboard.
The remaining red buttons are off in yellow.
Attach photo of my VW Sharan's but[attachimg=1]ton.
I'm not sure that ESP is working properly, i think so, how about you?
Thanks

I'd suspect the backlight has been played about with, but does it light up yellow if you push the button like the rest of the buttons do?

No.
Stays always red.

The rest of the visible lights all look to have a red colouring to them - might just be the way the photo is. I don't have an ESP button on mine, but maybe some who does can confirm what theirs does. I'd expect a warning either on the button or the dashboard if it was switched off, but can't think of a reason for it to fail to work if the required bits on the car are there. Might be worth a scan with VCDS to see if anything is being complained about by it if you have the option.

You need a matching cable - example of one is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Usb-Cable-Kkl-Vag-Com-409-1-Obd2-Ii-Obd-Diagnostic-Scanner-Vcds-Vw-Audi-Seat-Uk/323868884912?epid=22014392101 - this is a UK listing, but would expect you can find one relatively cheaply in whatever country you require (your profile says non-UK so would assume your probably somewhere in Europe?) The free version of VCDS will scan for errors without needing to buy the full version, and the 3rd party cables are fairly cheap so its worth having anyway (and will work with many VAG vehicles as well)

Vcds will allow you to connect using the diagnostic port and scan for errors on the various modules through the car, so if something is stopping the ESP coming on (not sure that anything is wrong at this point anyway) then you should have an error being logged there.

Hi.

I'm from Portugal.
2 questions:

- Wich cable for my VW Sharam MK2 (06/2007) 140 hp?

- Where is located the port cable?

Thanks again.

Port should be under the fusebox area - around about where your knee is when sat in the drivers seat on the mk2 like yours.

Any of the cables labelled Usb Cable Kkl Vag Com 409.1 or Vcds should be fine, You can probably find a suitable one on the appropriate eBay site for your area (seems to be the easiest place to find them). That particular listing includes the Alhambara but not the Sharan, might be best to ask the seller you choose to confirm its suitable for your car and year before you purchase it.

The ESP button should go yellow when off, the dash ESP light should also come on. IF neither are happening then I would suggest someones fitted the switch and the cars not got it. It's a relatively rare feature on these.
