Really missing the interior light from my mk2.No lights in doors or rear doors ,find it quite dull. How easy is it to fit led strips.i dont want to plug in too lighter.I want them to come on doors open. Can i wire them into the overhead lites which turn on off when doors are open.

No reason why you canââ,¬â,,¢t pick up a feed from interior lights and run the wiring to the strips, if you are really keen you could trace to interior light feed back to timer unit in fuse box and tap in there.

Brill,im going to check utube .ive got light strips, Is it a easy job going to fuse box,,.Would rather do that so wires are hidden. Why they took all the lights away i dint know.

Apologies just seen you have a mark3 I am not familiar with those so what I previously said might not be accurate. Yours will have a BCM rather than a timer unit.

If you wanted to play it safe, you could install a relay somewhere that was triggered off the internal lights and fed from a separate feed, Like what you do if you install a bypass relay for a towbar to avoid upsetting the bulb failure warning. That should avoid generating any problems (might be an idea to put an inline fuse into the supply somewhere close to the source though)
