My front and rear heater blower are not workallows .The digital display allows max setting but the rear fan wont allow any setting .Connecting 12v batt direct to front fan and spins ok  and tested front connector am getting 8-9v
tried vagcom lead and vcds lite shows 1 brake switch implausible reading and 2 abs front .
Have recently renewed discs and pads and 2 calipers and treated corrosion underneath and heater -a/c was ok but now display is on but no fans blowing.
Checked fan fuses 21 front and 22 rear and controller fuses 3,19,32 ,34 and all look ok ie not blown,
I like the car Galaxy 04 TDI ghia 130hp but the sill rot is worring and now auto  electric problems .
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated regards Bradley

It might be the blower motor resistor, that is a common fault on all makes and models of car all over the world
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

thanks for your reply and I am thinking it maybe the resistor pack but it has a hedgehog as its climate   digital controlled display .I think I read somewhere that even if it is a faulty hedgehog the fan will run continuously full speed. The fans are not doing anything just a faint click from front fan.

For front and rear fans to fail suggests a common issue, the resistor would not be common to both fans. I would be more inclined to look at the controller. Try unplugging the control panel and plugging back in again as this resets VAG panels.

Yes thanks that makes sense have disconnected batt hoping that would reset the controller but I will try anything thanks

I'd have a good check of the services splice joint - 32 i think (the red wires in the passenger footwell). I have a feeling someone else had various problems with the heater panel and this was traced back to that joint, you should be able to find a post on here somewhere with more precise info if you use the search for it.
