Hi All,
My drivers door one touch setting does not work on the upwards motion but works perfectly in the downward motion i have tried resetting ie wound window fully down and up in one motion but still no one touch in upwards any help or advice very much appreciated  ;)
Cheers,
Chas.

Check wiring in the gator from A post, my 1 touch used to play up when I had some broken wires.

You have to run the glass full travel up, release the switch and then rehold it on the one touch setting for a few seconds.  Then the same with down.  Then any other window.

But it does sound like the dreaded door wiring issue.

Still no luck but a new common problem it seems ie my central locking has packed up so suspect the wiring harness in the drivers door i am not skilled enough to tackle this in such a small confined space  :'( The car has 12 months warranty and am hoping it will cover this but i doubt it it usually for failed components not wear and tear i have contacted the dealer who i bought it from who said he would get someone to look at it for me if i were closer. Any suggestions please on this would be very much appreciated indeed unless someone fancies having a go at it for me? i only bought the car a couple of weeks ago and feel i have bought into a load of hassle  :(
Cheers,
Chas.

Itââ,¬â,,¢s a tough one how far away from dealer are you? Could you ask them to cover the cost of getting a local auto spark to repair wiring?

He is nearly 40 mile away the thing is it had 3 month dealer warranty already its just a pain in the butt i'm having problems already he did say i could take it to Halfords under this Warranties 2000 warranty but i have read the guff which says it covers central locking ie central locking solenoids nothing about wiring faults  :(
Cheers,
Chas.

You know what? I donââ,¬â,,¢t want to be one of those sorts of people who doesnââ,¬â,,¢t actually help with the problem, but is this really so much of a hardship? Iââ,¬â,,¢d be inclined to just leave it as it is and get on with life...

Meanwhile maybe try disconnecting the battery then winding the windows up and down a few times... might reset the way the computer handles the window winding. Seemed to always do the trick on a Ford Focus I had... after changing the battery on that car I always had to wind the windows up and down a few times before it would learn how to use the one touch button settings

I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

If it were just the window it wouldn't be a problem but its also the central locking of all the doors that is also now not working i suspect the wiring loom in the drovers door so will get someone to look at it ;)
Cheers,
Chas.

Mine does exactly the same on the drivers door - works going down, but have to hold it to come back up. The locks is much more of an issue obviously though, there are guides to how to fix it on this site though if you want a better idea of what to look for.
