my key fob seems to be dead! ive been looking and ebay has some for sale that look identical but the description states that these have 2 batteries. mine only has 1.
does anybody know if this is just a re-design over the years or are they just different?
thanks
lee.

iirc you must get the same 1 as the 1 you already have,as they work on different frequencies.

are you sure it only has one battery? thought mine only had one battery so only changed the one battery but there was another one under a thin metal devideing plate.do you have a haynes manual?  :)

yep, was 2 batteries after all. ;) thanks for that!!!
replaced both batteries and did manage to pair it with the car. however the operation is poor! only works when it likes and only very close. think its still looking like a new fob is needed.

no probs. ;) i found that out when i came across it in the haynes. think my fobs kippered so need to get a replacement. how did you pair it up? i followed intructions in the manual and as far as i got is the led in the door card going on solid. >:(

Just as the book describes, as far as I can tell the solid led shows its in pairing mode and this starts to flash if the signal is received and paired which mine did. Sounds like yours is knackered also!
Some car accessory shops have a tester which can pick up the signal. Wilco's in Kettering tried mine and got an occasional response which explains why it doesn't always work!

did they charge you to test it?  :) i followed the book too and it rolled all the windows down........ >:( i ended up holding the key for less time in the lock and windows stayed up and the light went soild. thats as far as i got lol.gunna look for a replacement fob i think. either that or get it tested for a signal like you did. cheers for the info. 8)

no charge for testing, mine will also roll the windows down if its left in unlock position. mine has stopped working again, looks like new fob! never ending.
