i did post in another thread similar but thought it best to just start another post. i have the dreaded suspension struts to do, i will be cutting them, i need part numbers for the bearing cups if anyone has them (befor i do the walk of shame into the dealers asking the spotty parts guy for information on a car that is older than he LOL) aaaaaanyway, ive put this off for a week (had the coilovers that long now, im getting old/patient/lazy i think) so really would like to grab some cups befor crimbo and slam my alhambra on her ass over christmas along with a cambelt and a few other service items..

cheers all

Buying this car after knowing all common problems feels bit sadistic, but then again, my main income is from growing potatoes in arctic.

Mirez did post that even really crusty ones hes had come undone with an impact wrench and extension bar (think with a knuckle onto it). Just might be easier than trying to cut them off!

I used a penetrating oil. Filled them up and covered with glove. Come undone after a week. Has anyone thought of drilling small drainhole?

that was rather quick! thankyou, would thatt be correct for a 1998?
i will be drilling a small hole in the cup and filling with grease/covering with a latex glove or two.
as for undoing via an impact and a knuckle, dont really fancy it with the windscreen right there. plus ive not heard of impact knuckles befor LOL its just as easy to cut them off believe me :D ive always found a grinder/recipricating saw to be the fastest tool if the parts are already destin for scrap
cheers again
