Hi,
Does anyone know if the rubber strap bit (which retains the fuel filler cap to stop it being lost when open for re-fuelling), is available separately please? Mine broke today.

Can't see it seperately on microcat, its part of the cap on this listing

Mines broken as well. I tend to just stick it in my pocket so i don't lose it!

Thanks for the reply, at Ã,£40, pocket it is ;)

You might get better luck either finding one in a scrapyard, or checking the various ones advertised for breaking, Ã,£40 for a fuel cap that doesn't even lock is insane!

Ã,£40 for a filler cap thatââ,¬â,,¢s mental money!!

Talking of mental money anyone want to take a guess at the cost of this relay from Toyota for my Lexus heated door mirrors?

No surprise we share common Galaxy problems of course but
I've recently been looking for a new fuel cap tether too
and sod paying Ã,£40 for a new one!

Musing over options I recalled I still had some nylon cored lacing cord
I used when building control cabinet harnesses and despite its thinness
it's tough stuff, I cant even stretch it let alone break it.

I made 2x 1.5mm holes in the 'slip ring'.
A 25mm-ish  O ring doubled up as the smaller ones were a bit thin for my liking
and a wee bit of heat shrink

The cap still turns OK without binding and I'll have to see how it fares long term
but it's better than me absent mindedly losing the cap.

Ã,£6.95?

Not from a Toyota dealer,I go in and give relay to partsman he pops off and comes back few minutes later with my defective relay and a print out. At first he says I cannot believe the price and then shows me the printout. Grand total of Ã,£73.69....... my response was f****** hell how can they justify that? He said that was his reaction to his colleague. Needless to say I did not pay that money for it and left my temporary merc relay in there instead.
