An automatic 2002 auy 1.9 pdti sharan:
The gearbox shifts up to 5th normally, and if I'm pushing the gas around 50 mph the rpm jumps to 3500-4000 (usually I lift off my leg when it happens).
If I use it in manual mode, it doesn't do it (but I didn't test it fully yet)
It does only when the gearbox is warm, after 30-40 min drive.
And also with warm gearbox it kicks like a horse between 2-3.
If the gearbox is cold, everything is fine.

Good place to start is a fluid change in my opinion, given it happens when warm could indicate fluid has degraded

Hi, thanks.

Next week I'll take it to get a fault-read and fluid check.
I realised that the warm gearbox goes into neutral around 2000rpm, so thats the revving up.
