Hey guys,

Just found out that my Galaxy Mk1 brake servo needs replacement.
Can any one confirm if a Galaxy MK1 2001 1.9 TDI 115 hp has ESP or not , so i dont end up buying the wrong part.

I bought it used so i dont have the owners manual.

Thanks in advance

Drive it Italian style round a round /about and see if the car tells you off :)

Ive done that and no light show in dash.
I know that my Galaxy has ABS but that does not mean it has ESP , unless im wrong.
Saying this cause i own a Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI 2003 with ABS but no ESP and i also have a Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 109 hp 2010 , that has ABS and ESP.
Also i dont see any switch to turn on/off the ESP in the Galaxy. unlike my Focus where in the onboard computer i have the option to turn it on/off.

Thing is ive searched for the part number and i cant find it new, only found 1 or 2 used ones. I really wanted a new part , just to be sure.

Certainly no esp on the wife's 06 Sharan, if no flashing and intervention if you drive image spirited fashion I would suggest no ESP

It will just have abs,and your car will be a mark 2 on a 2001 reg year.

Before assuming its the brake servo, check the pipe leading to it. They can and do split towards the ends where it pushes onto the barbed bit of the connector.

Also be aware they are handed - a Lefthand drive one is different to a righthand one (at least when i was unsucessfully searching for one for the MK1 there are a few variations and the size was different on the rhd vs lhd). You might be lucky if its a lhd one as its probabbly easier to get to if its on the other side of the car.

Thanks for the help. Its a left-hand drive. And i checked the pipes and its the brake servo.

Tho no ESP on this model, just ABS.

At least the part is cheaper this way...

And again , thanks for the help. Cheers
