Alhambra 1.9 TDI with MT350 transaxle code EHH.  My intermediate bearing is supported in a metal plate on a steel casting from the block, not aluminium diecasting from the transaxle.  Right hand seal is leaking.  Is it possible to remove the inner right half shaft without disturbing the outer half please?

should have 6 x 10mm multi-spline bolts that splits it in half?  then a 6 or 7mm allen bolt in the centre that holds stub shaft in the diff.   be warned getting it back in is a pain as you have to push shaft in with a crowbar/lever to compress a spring that fits in first.  the seal is about Ã,£8 from ford dealer.

Last week, I changed both the seal and intermediate shaft because it had a lot of play.
I compressed the spring with a bearing puller pressing up against the anti-roll bar.
The spring is hard to press using a bar or pushing on it

Thanks Daddyfixit and Audiman.  It took me for ever to find out how to reply!
