New tires for my Galaxy

Im looking for 195/60/16 99h tires, always used Bridgestone, the ones that came with the car, but now I find out that they don,t make it anymore, and all I can find here in Spain are van tires.
What tires do you normally put on your galaxy?
Thanks.

I've used Toyo, and Maxxis both have been fine. I've had a pair of cheap ones put on the front of the old one, and they were awful even though they were the right load rating. 99 load rating is higher than mine though, it might be worth double checking the rating plate inside the filler to see whats recommended on yours, think mine is 97 which may give you some more options?

99 rating is 775kg per tyre.....you don't need that high a rating.

I had a set of Audi TT wheels with virtually brand new winter landsails on lying about when I bought my wife's Sharan, it needed new tyres so I swapped the wheels over. They run very well, covered about 3k on them so far and no issues.

According to black circles it's 91 - 93 rating btw

Thanks for the advises.
In the homologation paper, says they have to be 99/97h or if I change to 205/55 16 98/96h.
I only want to change front tyres, so they have to be 195/60 or I wont pass MOT.
The trouble is there are only van tyres on this sizes nowadays, and I dont know about them, Im thinking about Michelin Agilis 51, Pirelli  Carrier...do you know about that type of tyres?
Has someone tried them?

It dosent surprise me that you can only get 99 rated tyres in van specification as the load rating is higher than any car would require.

Try openeo they do mail order and have a few car options in 195/60/16 99 from value through to high end. It does default to van tyres in that size though so you have to switch to car tyres, plenty there though.

I strongly suggest going for highest weight rating possible for the galaxy/sharan. Better handling due to stronger side wall and if you use yours as a van, much better when you have some weight in it. Only downside is tires are heavier so performance might be affected but not significantly

You definitely want the ones rated as XL for the size, these should be adequate for the weight. Normal rating tyres for a car as Christiant have a negative effect on the handling, and as they flex too easily actually wear out quicker so don't last as long either (uneven wear i found to be a problem with the original tyres on my mk1, plus the abysmal handling, replacing them with the Maxxis xl rated ones on the fitting centres advice sorted this, along with tracking check and adjust).

I've just checked and mine are on 215/55 r16 97 rated tyres, the size you mention using isn't even on the sticker on mine as suitable, so probably not much help there. It might be worth checking if you can get some ordered and delivered and if somewhere will fit them for you locally, not sure what the situation is in Spain for that, but it seems its an odd size you have there (I know I found the same with the alloy wheels on the mk1, apparently they weren't an ideal match for the tyre size, though the alternatives either had no available currently produced tyres, or were alot more expensive)

I finally mounted 195 60 16c 97/99h Goodyear Efficientgrip Cargo tyres, looks like they are not very noisy, and not very different from previous Bridgestone tyres, thanks everyone for the advises.

Good choice -  I always used Dunlop tyres which is what the car with - recently changed all four tyres to Goodyear Efficient grip 215 55 16 97W rating.

The goodyear tyres have a soft rubber, giving a better ride.

I use Michelin cross climates and would recommend. Happy to take some photos for you etc if desired
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
