I have a question, does the 01-10 Galaxy/Sharan nearside axle with the bearing fit into the Mk1 Car in any way? Old shaft is done and its easier to find one for the mk2 than the mk1?

They are different - the mk2 uses 6 bolts to couple to the gearbox, the mk1 stub sticks straight into the gearbox on the longer shaft. The short one might be interchangable, not sure never tried it.

Given your in Estonia it might help to specify if you mean the short driveshaft or the long one, as I suspect your definition of nearside is the opposite of the UK one?

I meant the long one, with the bearing inside it. I cant seem to find any place that supplies the right one as new, expect original part which was over 300 euros something
