Rattling noise when stationary on full lock

I've just starting getting a load rattling grating type noise from under the bonnet when the steering is at full lock. It disappears when the revs are increase, still with car stationary. Ive sprayed WD40 onto the mechanism on end of alternator in case that was rattling, but made no difference. Could it be belt slipping? - it was making noise before I spayed WD40 so it won't be that which got onto the belt. Aux Belt was changed last year.

Any ideas please.

PS. Checked Power Steering Fluid and it's at max level.

Get someone to to operate steering while you watch the aux belt tensioner as could be that which has gone week, mine did that. If it is take belt off and check alternator overrunning pulley to check if seized.

Also worth a check of power steering fluid level aswell.

Mine started getting noisy when say backing into parking spaces on tickover
After swapping the belt and tensioner to no avail, I eventually discovered the alternator pulley
had seized.
Fitting a new one sorted it
