alloy box under dash

hi guys  . while trying to sort a couple of problems on the car today ive come across a alloy box under the dash.any ideas what this is? there was also some thin cut wires under the dash taped up by the previous owner.......... the first lot came from the alloy box and the other lot came from the upper part of the dash.could they be wires from the tweeters? the car dont have the origional stereo in it so only the front speakers work at the minute as the origional wiring aint connected. also found a small yellow plugs with about 6 wires on it. in advance

Could be the factory amp, the SRS module or some aftermarket thing. Generally yellow plugs are part of the airbag/srs system so treat with caution although in Ford's wisdom they did make the plug containing VSS and remote controls for the stereo yellow... genius

mirez  think the yellow plug is stereo related. as for the alloy box is defo factory. just was concerned about the taped up wires. the wires are in a grey flat sleeve and very thin. kinda like telephone wires. ill post a piccy when i suss out how to lol.
