me, again lol, got the MOT soon getting some judder at breaking, nothing has been done on this car for a while, so I'm investing some time, money and effort to bringing it up to scratch. next up is discs (they look pretty bad and judder maybe warped disc) and as I plan on keeping the car, I'll do the whole lot. my question after all that talking..
which brand of disc and pad, first port of call was Euro parts, in my basket I added pagid disc and pad, costing roughly 110, should I go with cheaper or better quality

Literally just did them (again) on mine, has eicher on there but they have rusted... yes rusted where the pad was stopped causing a vibration under breaking. I have gone for Brembo this time but Pagid are a known good manufacturer.

I've had Eicher, Pagid and Brembo. I'd avoid Eicher, either of the other two are fine. National are definitely ones to avoid if your offered them though!

Agree with Brian about the National discs, I put some of those on the front of a Clio and they squealed like a pig. Mind you, the vented discs were only Ã,£7 each!

I would whole heartedly recommend Mintex. In 140,000 miles, I've put two sets of Mintex discs on the front of the Galaxy, and one set on the back, and they have all worn absolutely deck flat.

I meant to add, Pagid & Mintex are the same company - TMD Friction.

tmd also manufacture a large range of eicher pads as well....cant say if they do galaxy ones but the do the most popular selling ones for eicher.
I have just put juratek on mine on Saturday, took out apecs that had worn out normally. still got motaquip front discs on it from 14 years ago though !!

thanks again for the help gents, gone with the pagid, but one more question please, when changing brakes do I change these as well.

I didnââ,¬â,,¢t I just re used the old ones,I seem to remember some makes of pad come with them anyway, ones for my Alfa certainly did

At that price I'd leave them unless they are missing or broken. You should be able to see if theres a problem with them once you have the wheel off.

lol I've certainly taken a ton of work on, track rod gone drivers side and shock gone, I'm HOPING that I'm finished on it when done. lol I've caught everything that everyone who owned it should have fixed, I'm surprised it even got MOT with track rod arms as lose as they where both sides.

I've just purchased both of the track rods for mine as it failed MOT on them, a steering boot and one of the outriggers needing welding.
