Hey team, got a problem with the wifes 06 Sharan. On full lock only and either side its making a squeely chirping noise which is reasonably loud. I thought it would be the old seized alternator pulley but I changed the whole thing and it didn't make any difference. What else should I be looking at??
Toot-Toot! Beep-Beep!

Tensioner or belt , feel the belt does it feel a little loose? To be honest i would of changed the belt and tensioner and alternator pulley as they are very common.

Sounds really stupid, but;

Turn off any fans/hvac inside the car and see if it still full locks then.

My fan chirps if I put the car under a bit load like full lock.

poss the aux belt tensioner ? mine was making stupid noises also...

turn off aircon,to see if the noise disappears?had some strange noises on mine,turned out to be the aircon clutch plate parting company with the compressor.

I'd make sure power steering fluid level reservoir is full, not just ok.

Seized alternator pulley would cause the aux. belt to slip.
I replaced the alternator pulley when I had the same issue. Quite an easy job to do

Mine did the same esp on low rev parking/reversing.
Changed belt and tensioner to no avail and it was only after I
changed the alternator pulley it stopped.

have a look at the tensioner at tick over, it shouldn't move much
if it is, the pulleys knackered

Aww shoot!
you already did, sorry, missed that bit.

I bet after the failed overrunning pulley the tensioner is now knackered,I had the seized alt pulley which I replaced but tensioner still bounced around and was noisy when in full lock parking etc.
