I recently noticed a strange 'chuffa chuffa' noise when engine sat at idle. Popped bonnet and engine cover, found what feels like air being expelled near one of the fuel injectors. Told by a mechanic who had a quick glance at it that it sounds like injector blow by, that it was likely a seal in the injector hole that was allowing the air to come back out. Been quoted 150 to remove all injectors clean ports re seat and replace seals. Is this something i could do myself?

If you are handy with the spannerââ,¬â,,¢s I donââ,¬â,,¢t see why not.

Not 100% sure of the set up on your engine but usually just a case of removing high pressure pipe, leak off pipe the the hold down clamp/bolt. Then pulling injector out. Biggest problem would be cleaning the injector bore out as it will have carbon build up if itââ,¬â,,¢s been leaking. Brake cleaner, long thin driver and rag should do it.

If I were you I would give a good spray with penetrating oil a few days prior to removing as they can seize in. When removal day comes get engine warm first.Recently had some out of an Alfa jtdm they were so seized in only way to shift was with slide hammer.
