Hi all not been on for a while,
Anyway after replacing a faulty battery on the old gal ive now developed an abs fault. Ive ran vag short program and its coming up fault P01276  ABS Hydraulic pump V64 012 Electrical Fault in circuit, does this mean I need as new pump or controller or something simpler, if its pump has anyone got one to buy? The part code is 7M3907379E ATE VW
Many thanks if anyone can help

So it only happened after battery change?

If so start by re checking the connections on battery etc to rule out poor or loose connection.

Oh and any wiring plugs around battery that could have been knocked/disturbed while doing battery

I would also take a look at the 3 fuses in the engine bay fuse box as IIRC one of those is the pump fuse V62. If you do need an ABS block then I have one 'in the stores' :)

well actually what happened was id suspected a faulty battery or alternator for a while, so I got aa out to confirm because of low charge and turn over over rate, found out it was battery in the end.
aa guy gave me a boost to get it started so I could go and buy a replacement, but as he did get me started the abs light and esp light came on for some reason but brakes not affected.Anyway fitted new battery but couldnt turn off lights on dash, so i ran vag lite and i came out with the code as said.
Ive checked all connections and the three fuses as said but no good

Thanks mirez and johnny for the input but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new part
The parts I need are the abs pump/module pn.7M3907379E ATE vw/10.0925-0306.3 and pump no.7M3614111M with ESP in anyone has this available, pm me with a price and ill sort out payment
many thanks

Sounds like the boost start may have pushed too much power through ABS then,I take it you have tried resetting the fault code?

This all does seem a coincidence, problems starting the car and now ABS fault.
Are you sure the battery fuse box wiring is good? oxidation of the two large black cable terminals is quite common and gives the symptoms you have had

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

yes johnny ive tried to reset  the code but just comes straight back up, and yes chris checked the fuse box by the battery for oxidation as that was my first port of call as it was fine the night before just slow turning over

As above with the part codes if anyone has got these in working condition, I'm willing to buy them off anyone on the site

Just a quickie, is it possible to remove the abs control module while in situ for repair and still use the vehicle even though the pump is not working? would the system lose fluid and be driveable on basic brakes and be safe?or would the whole system have to be removed and brake lines disconnected and obviously undriveable till reffited and bled, just a thought!

I would hazard a guess and say if you are looking at repair the whole unit will need to come off rendering car with no brakes until back on and bled??

Make sure you have a good earth and good voltage at the abs pump before you "bite the bullet".

Would anyone on the forum have a wiring diagram and fuse/relay location for the abs system on the 2.8 v6 2004 model please
Much appreciated

Hi!

I have also problem with abs light comes on and off on my sharan -07 1,8T.
At first time it come on was when disconnect the battery cable due to inspect the high voltage fuse box as is it was burned plastic cover top of the box. I thought that was the reason so I replaced that box without success. I have also look at earth connection under and behind the battery. The fault codes is saying something about abs pump not function.

IÃ,´m also really interested to have a look into electric diagram to be able to measure that I have power supply to abs pump.

thanks
