Yet another door lock/opening issue.

I went to use the car a few days ago and the doors wouldnââ,¬â,,¢t open from the key fob. I opened the driverââ,¬â,,¢s door with the key to find the battery completely flat (9 volts).

Iââ,¬â,,¢ve re-charged the battery but the other three passenger doors were deadlocked. (The battery still holds its charge overnight) Iââ,¬â,,¢ve managed to get the rest of the doors open by stripping the insulation back to expose the conductor and put 12 volts into the wire that goes to pin 5 of the door mechanisms.

Whilst I havenââ,¬â,,¢t checked every single wire in the loom for continuity Iââ,¬â,,¢ve repaired the broken ones and insulated the ones where the insulation was cracked on all four doors.

Iââ,¬â,,¢ve visually checked the tailgate loom in the hinge line and it looks perfect.

Now the central locking does not work anymore. When I use the key in the driverââ,¬â,,¢s door or tailgate the indicators flash which suggests the BCM is getting a lock/unlock signal, itââ,¬â,,¢s just not passing the lock/unlock signal to the door locks.

I think a clue as to why it wonââ,¬â,,¢t work is that the tailgate will only unlock when you turn the key in the lock but not if you just pulling the handle like it should.

Any ideas other than check every single wire for continuity?

Have you checked the basics like the fuses? Certainly sounds like some damaged door wiring has played a part in this to me from draining battery to central locking packing up.
