Hi everyone  :)
Have just joined and my first question to you all is ....

Who knows if it is possible to just replace the gearbox end of the gearchange cable on a MK1 Alhambra .... Or is it a case of change the whole cable set ??

Links to part suppliers / previous answers would be very welcome.

Ta
Andy.

Hey Andy, I don't have much experience with the mk1 cables but I don't think they are that dis-similar to the Mk2 and as such the end won't be replaceable. The parts diagram would unfortunately appear to back that up:

[attachimg=1]

7M0711877H is the part number for the cables.
03 Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 Ghia in Spruce Green Metallic
With cream leather interior, Full Bodykit, Remapped at 145bhp, Lowered on 18's
17 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 Diesel in Slate Blue
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!
58 Ford Transit 2.2 TDI 115 in Frozen White
With retrofitted everything except another slidey door! :)

Oh lovely  :(
Just what I didn't want to know .... Ah well - new cables it is going to have to be.

2023 VW Transporter T6.1 SE In Silver 2.9TDI 150PS. 7 Speed DSG Wheelchair accessible day vehicle.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

Thanks for that link - Have now got cables sorted at my local garage - but for some reason they cannot now get the gear lever to go back to centre from between first & second  :( ??
From fifth & reverse it's just fine ....  :)

Sounds like cables need adjusting properly to me,you have to lock stick and mechanism on box and then take the slack out of cables using the spring loaded adjusters.

Thanks for the replied folks .... Got it all sorted now (hopefully) .... Just waiting to see which body parts I will need to sell to cover the bill ....  :o ???
