Hi guys , I have recently been getting the " STOP ,LOW OIL PRESSURE " warning  coming up within about 3 minutes of starting the engine on the dash on my 2005 1.9TDI ( 150ps ) Galaxy ( but no orange warning light accompanies the message ) . I have ran an OBD2 scan a few times now , and " No Codes " keeps displaying on the reader . at the beginning of last week I changed the oil and filter ,and no dash warning came up for about a week , but now its doing it again ! . I ran a scan again after the warning message came up on the dash , and , again "No Codes " was displayed on the OBD2 reader . the only other thing I can think that may be suspect could possibly be is a malfunctioning oil pressure switch . advice will be much appreciated  :) . could somebody please advise me as to the location of the oil pressure switch ? is it on the sump ,next to the sump drain bung ? pics for reference would also be much appreciated too if possible guys .
thanks  :)

You wont get a code because its not a 'fault' as the car sees it, just like the low screen wash warning for example. What mileage are you on? If the oils not been changed frequently then then it is possible to clog the strainer in the sump which will give this warning - possibly why it improved after you changed the oil for a short while.

IIRC the sensor is on the front of the engine, mid way up.

hi Mark , the car has done 194,000 miles now , and has been serviced at the specified intervals. would flushing the engine, changing the oil and filter again be a good idea ,due to its higher mileage ? or would it be a sump off job matey ? I might also try changing the switch anyway ,for how cheap they are to buy . thanks for your advice buddy ,much appreciated  :)

What kind of fault reader are you using? Just out of curiosity

Buying this car after knowing all common problems feels bit sadistic, but then again, my main income is from growing potatoes in arctic.

I would change pressure switch at first and see what happens then,do they have 2 switches as I seem to remember one where Mark says on front of block and also one on filter housing??

If it persists I would drop sumo and check pick up,I personally donââ,¬â,,¢t bother with a flush just drain when oil is nice and warm.

the code reader I have is only a cheap one , an Autel MS 300 , cost me about Ã,£20  .
I didn't realise there were 2 pressure switches fitted to this engine  , I have ordered the one that fits to the filter housing . I will try that first and see what happens guys . thanks again for the advice everyone , much appreciated  :)  :) :) :)
