It appears I have a noisy alternator on my MK2 2.3 seems like the bearings are running dry question is does anyone know where I can get new bearings before I start hunting through the bearing suppliers

In my opinion it would be easier to get a recon alternator, you can probably get bearings but would likely need to strip it to get the bearing numbers also you would need a puller to remove them.
Just my opinion someone may come along and say where to get bearings cheap etc but stripping down and changing them you run risk of damaging alternator aswell.

its not the first alternator I have rebuilt so the work does not worry me have all the pullers and presses to fit bearings will just strip it and get the catalogues out don't trust recon stuff never know what passes as a recon unit!!

Some people must have more money than sense new alternator around Ã,£350!!!!!! complete joke never worth that sort of money.. two new bearings sourced from local engineering company cost Ã,£12.50 my time is free. all back up and running perfect
