Well, my renewal is coming & I'm getting quotes;

They're double what they were last year.
With no claims or convictions since!
(I had a 6-pointer two and a half years ago.)
I have 8 years no claims (whole driving history.)

Everyone was so competitive last year, but this year they're clocking up over Ã,£1.2k!

I was told because there's loads of fake claims going in on 7-seaters...

Absolute joke.

Anyone got preferred insurers or 'friendly' insurers that can be a bit competitive?
I do less that 10k miles on SDP with no commuting/business.
I'm garaged at my house in a reasonable area at night and usually daytime, too.

Ã,£1.2k that is just mental money for a family bus anyone would thing it's a Bugatti!!!

The insurance company I used said 7 seater is more but it only added Ã,£60 on what I paid for a 325!. Pay just over Ã,£300 with admiral which I found on a compare site.

What companies have quoted that and how old are you?

I'm 29 & I used compare websites and have checked through a few national and local brokers;
Think it was Tesco that came best at Ã,£1,187...

I don't understand how it can be so high at 29 with no claims discount aswell.
Only thing I can think is the 6 pointer is affecting it,what was the points for?

Got an IN10 - Driving with no insurance.
Genuinely no fault of my own (but they all say that...)

I'd rang insurance company to change over car, and they didn't do it on the day I'd asked for, they did it for the following month.
But that's all in the past and the insurance company denied knowledge, and my phone all was 'inaudible' on request.

Anyways!
I know the expense!

That will be the cause as they see you as higher risk, nightmare you have that on record when it was a cock up by them. Can't see any way out of big premiums for a while with that in license.

Doubled premiums over last year though?
It's been on my licence for nearly 3 years and it didn't make much of a difference initially.

Insurance companies are literally there to rob people blind.

They are and always will be dodgy rip off merchants, have you tried a local broker to see what they can come up with?

Im 41 over 9 years no claims.  They want Ã,£875 and i dont have no speeding fines or points.  2003 Sharan 115bhp.  Insurance renewal is 11th of August.

I've just been quoted Ã,£875 for the year yesterday fully comp.

I just need to see if my current insurers can it, and if not, that's who I'm going for.
I was quoted a little over Ã,£600, but they wanted to fit a black box and smart meter to my car, and I'm not allowed to drive at peak times...
I told them exactly Wear to go.

We should try get a club insurance with someone?
I know Adrian Flux used to do it, and so did a few brokers.

Some of these prices are ridiculous how can they justify such an increase when nothing has changed?

Just renewed my insurance.  Ã,£783 fully comp from Shielas wheels.  Think its a rip off but still Ã,£700 cheaper than this year's quote from Tesco insurance who I was with last year and who wanted to double the price for this year. There's no customer loyalty from insurance companies.

Fully comp
Business use
Legal cover
Screen cover
2nd named driver

Yeah, mine is similar cover and I pay 200.

Insurance companies have wildly varying prices and it pays to shop around. Also if they give me a bad quote I always express my disappointment to them and slam the phone down and block their number, itââ,¬â,,¢s important they get that sort of feedback
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
