Hi, I'm hoping someone can state this definitely isn't the diff! I've got this droning when I get up to at least around 40 mph on a straight road, if I turn the wheel slightly to the right, it completely disappears. Dipping the clutch makes no difference, so I can only assume it's the final drive, a wheel bearing or possibly a CV. Mind you, I haven't changed any wheels around. Very grateful for any ideas!

Diff noises usually come and go when on and off the gas, wheel bearing noise usually constant in a straight line and can be worse when cornering particularly in one or the other direction.

Start by checking fronts but don't rule out the rears.

Thanks for your advice, Chris. I've come to the same conclusion.
