I'm in the process of changing the injector wiring loom on my Ford Galaxy TDI 2002 - I've loosened the 13 bolts on the rocker cover but it doesn't seem to want to come off - the instructions in the library on here says there are 14 bolts but I'm struggling to find 14 ? Thanks

Don't know exactly how many there are but from memory there are some all way round and on the top,but 1 of them by EGR valve is a bit of a pig to see and get to,I would suspect that's the one you cannot locate.

Thanks - there are only 13 - just had to lever it off gently in the end - had borrowed some 1/4 inch socket bits from someone and had no problem with the bolt behind the EGR thankfully - found it difficult unplugging the connectors from the injectors and broke a couple of the connectors doing so - I'm not 100% sure but I think I lost a little plastic tab in the engine - what are the consequences of this ? Should I do an oil change to flush it out if it is there - I have already taken the car for test drive and appears to have remedied the problems I had with the car juddering and misfiring so I'm happy with what I've done apart from this.

They are a pain to remove the connectors.

Personally I wouldn't worry about a small piece of plastic it will find its way down galleries back to sump, will either stay in bottom of sump and come out next change or the pick up will get it in the gauze.

I have a spline bit in my sump that went down gallery,it's just too wide to come out drain plug so has stayed there. Maybe one day I will drop sump to retrieve it?!

Nice one - thanks for your help on this
