Hi everyone,
last yearI replaced my rear anti roll bar bushes but I was never happy about the condition of the anti roll bar. It is badly corroded and all the powder coating has come off. Because the corrosion is so bad the diameter is reduced and I wondered how this may impact on the effectiveness and longevity of the new bushes. I ask this because I have developed a bad knock at the rear. It sounds too loud to be arb bushes but I'm not sure.If it turns out to be so, can anyone advise where I can get a new anti roll bar. Everyone does the bushes and drop links but not the stabiliser bar and all the ones on ebay seem to be as corroded as mine.

I would imagine if eBay/scrappers are in same condition then it would be a dealer only part.

Was it even corroded under the bushes? My ARB is corroded but under bush s it is worn from movement but no corrosion,it does not cause any noises though.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
From what I remember, under the bushes seemed smooth but a smaller diameter than the rest of the bar. Perhaps the corroded bar is bigger rather than smaller., a bit like a corroded nut seems a tighter fit in the socket. I'll have to check it with vernier calipers. I'm on holiday at the moment but when I get back I'll check and let you know.

Sounds quite possible the ARB has increased in diameter slightly from the rust.
If you look at some new bushes they usually give a measurement for the bar so you could refer that to the diameter under your bushes?
