Hi Guys
I know there have been many posts on broken wires in door gaiters etc. On my Auto Galaxy the door locking only works on the drivers door and the boot lid. I checked the wiring in the door and as far as i can tell it seems complete with no breaks that I can detect. I also note that the door locking button is not working.  Can any give me some guidance as to where i should look? Does this sound like a door lock module fault or is it most likely a broken cable? If so where should I look first?  Any pointers gratefully received!

Have you checked all doors and tailgate for wiring damage?
Also have you had a check of fuses before delving any deeper?

I have checked the fuses - all OK I have so far only checked the drivers door - and the wiring seems OK no breaks that i can find. I know I will have to check all I was looking for a short cut!!  looks like there isn't going to be one!

Thanks

Only other thing is plug vcds in and see if that throws any pointers up,but wiring check all round defo first thing to do. When they are broken they cause all manner of electrical gremlins as they can short to earth and across circuits.

yep think your goner have to go all sherlock on this 1 m8.

Hi Guys

Does anyone have any experience of fault tracking with this that doesn't involve checking every doors wiring?  I cannot find any problems with the wiring on any door - yet I have this problem. Any ideas where I should look?  The only doors that locks is the driver and the boot.

Any advice on a more targeted approach?

Use the measuring block function of VCDS within the 09 - Central Electric module. You should be able to get it to tell you the lock state of all the doors and when the respective command is being issued. What you can deduce from that is if the command is being issued and the locks aren't receiving it, they are and are unable to respond to it or its not being issued.
