Auxiliary Fuse Box

Hi all.  Mot coming up soon so i thought id try and tackle the abs light which comes on after driving about 10 seconds. I changed the Auxiliary Fuse Box after it melted but since then i have had the abs light on.
Firstley i have checked the voltages over the terminals, and one of them is showing 0.3v.

Can anyone please tell me is this the right voltage, i have searched the forum and the internet looking for a diagram with no joy which would show the voltage. Even if someone could check their own it would mean an easy fix if this is the culprit.
I have already checked the earth and the wheel sensors and they are all okay.

All the terminals should have the same voltage across them,if you have 0.3v on one that suggests either blown fuse or poor connection on one of the lugs.

When you changed the fuse box did you replace any lugs/sections of cable? The burnt fuse box is as a consequence of the problem and not the actual problem.

Hi Johnny, yeah replaced the cable and soldered the lugs. Did you see the pic? its not the actual bolt on cables its the plug connector which is fed by the 3 fuses at the bottom of the fuse box. The middle one is 0.3v, and looking at mirez's's's's diagram it is for the abs etc

Do you have voltage at either side of the fuse?
If not I can only assume there is an issue inside the aux fuse box as I would think the live originates in there from the battery lead goes through fuse and then off to the abs circuit?

The voltage is the same on both sides of the fuse and i swapped out the fuse just to be sure to be sure. I assumed the same but just need confirmation.
Do you think its worth supplying the cable temporarily (fused of course) just to see if the abs light goes off?
The unit seems sealed tight so opening it will most likely break it.
The one i got 2nd hand was dearer then new just after looking lol

Just By-passed the fuse box with a 30amp fused connection to the battery, and it is as suspected.
A new fuse box ordered, and minus Ã,£20 

Now that the power is restored, the steering seems to shudder. Maybe i'm paranoid i'll have to test drive more.

Funnily (well not for me) Some cowboy had stuffed the sill with foam in a black bag. I will take pics and show my fix. Seems that 2 brackets either side at the rear that hold the inner arch plastic trim and connect to the chassis are rotten, plus the offside sill at the front and at the rear where it was stuffed...real shocker lol.

Probably more as well.

Fingers crossed the replacement box resolves the issue you have,Sod's law you fix one fault and then introduce another with a faulty part!!

I cannot see any reason why you would get steering shudder now there is power to abs,I would drive it a bit and if carries on get balance of front wheels checked initially.
