Help! I need a tow bar fitted to my 2012 2.2 TDI Titanium.  My Ford dealership have asked me to get a third party to fit but I am worried about my warranty. They have said nothing about returning to them after the bar is fitted so that they can check it etc. Any advice, please?

right dunno where you live, but as i have 2 smax's in my family we had 1 fitted to the wifes car.as hers is a motorbility car this had to be fitted by a reputable company.and have a receipt to prove.other wise i wouldve paid cash like i did on my mk2 galaxy  ;)
we 1st inquired at fords and words fail me at the price we got back, over 1k  ??? :o :o

we in the end went to a local firm called 'euro tow' in eastbourne and got it fitted for Ã,£450,a witter detachable.
as we went in there parked up was a brand new smax awaiting a tow bar to be fitted,YEP thats where fords send them and get upto Ã,£600 for the privilege.
im surprised they told you to go away and find an independent, there obviously awash with cash.

as it will be fitted by experts this will not invalidate your warranty.BUT make sure you dont lose the paperwork, just in case. ;)
