Is this for a detachable towbar on a 2012 galaxy i have ? its in the wee cubby hole back right at the side of the boot, I looked under the car but cant see anything

is it a retaining bolt/screw?

i cant see it being used for a tow hitch, when i had mine fitted to my smax there was no place to store it like that.
looks to me like a screw for securing a jack, but the mk3 doesnt have 1?

Looks like a manual release for something to me as it appears there is a Bowden cable on right hand side of it?

Electric parking brake manual release?

this car doesnt have electric handbrake

It defo looks like some sort of release handle to me with the cable on it,can you trace where the cable goes to?

Manual opening for the tailgate in case of flat battery?  All other options are electric, iirc.

I've got one of those on mine, its a lock for the tow bar swivel. You remove the key from the holder and insert it into the lock. Turn it clockwise. Pull out the lock wheel to its stop and turn anticlockwise. You should hear an acoustic signal and will stop when you manually swivel the tow bar to its locked position.
