p reg 1996 sharan chassis is its the same as a 2005

hi need some help are the chassis of a p reg the same as an 55 plate   
what i want to know is will the towbar off a p reg fit a 2005 model  sharan

I transferred a tow bar from a 53 galaxy to an 07 sharan ok
not sure if 96 was same chassis at rear Mirez might know.

thanks buddy .trouble i got both cars look alike and i an looking for a second hand towbar and i can get one for Ã,£30 off a 1996 so its a do or don't lol
