The whole ordeal could do with being described a bit better?
It doesn't lock shut? (Can be opened at any time?)
It doesn't latch shut? (Won't actually close/latch lock?)

A: Yes, it simply doesn't shut; thus, sometimes, it shuts, half! If I push it smoothly it finally shuts! After some tries!

Q: It doesn't latch shut? (Won't actually close/latch lock?)
A: It does. It stands shut.


Can you see in the photo, the plastic that surrounds the hook is damaged; looks like it was bitten. It's normal, the car is 16 yold with a lot of hardwork.

What do you think about this?

A new lock?

Have you tried to oil/grease up the mechanism at all?

Trim the protruding plastic off with Stanley blade and give it a lube,if that don't work new latch is required.

Is the rubber weatherseal fitted properly allowing the door to fully close, or has the striker plate become loose or need adjustment?
