Hi.  I'm trying to retro fit the headrest and dvd kit into my mk2 galaxy.  I have already fitted the mfd1 sat nav and need help with the wiring to power the dvd and headrest units and the wiring from the sat nav unit

Have you got the visteon control box that fits in centre console? The wiring all goes to that from screens,DVD unit and the power supply from head unit.
On rear of the head unit there is a feed out in either the green or yellow plug (can't remember which). The sat nav needs a separate little harness if it is retrofit the plug is the rectangle one with about 10 connections.
One of these http://www.hiperbat.pt/loja/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=95
Also have you got the gps aerial and lead?

I have the two screens,  the control unit, the unit with the buttons on and the wiring between them all.  I don't have any wiring that goes either from the sat nav unit to the control box or the cars harness to the control box.

I have no problem making one up if I can get an idea of what goes where

With mine it came with vcr from factory but has since had a DVD changer fitted instead so cannot comment on OE DVD set up.
Mine has got a feed from head unit to the control unit to power it up if memory serves correct the feed in is the white wire in visteon plug under drivers seat. This needs to be a switched feed from the radio. You should also have a permanent feed and earth in there. If you don't have the wiring from car to it then it's straightforward to run them from rear of radio to the unit you just need to make sure they are the correct way round.

As I said not familiar with the DVD set up,is the player part of the unit in centre console or is it located elsewhere?

Ok guys,  I'm still proper stuck with this.

I have it out of the car on the bench at the moment.  I have it all connected up apart from two plugs.  One has 3 wires going into it and the other has 10 wires.  I don't know what these go to or which ones power up the unit and screens.  Can anyone shed any light on this

The connectors

Difficult to see from picture are you able to take a picture of the whole set up?
What is on other end of the leads you have pictured?

This is what is on the other end.  It goes into the centre socket on the control module.  There is also a spur which just powers the 12v socket

I cannot remember exactly what plug does what but as it has spur to power socket I would think it is the one that goes to under the drivers seat and connects to the car wiring?
How long is the loom?
If memory serves correct 1 plug goes to screens, one to rear for DVD player and the other (which I think that is) goes under drivers seat.

the screens connect to the front of the control box .  the dvd player connects to one of the green connectors one the side of the control box.
the unit with the buttons and aux inputs connects to the black plug on the side of the control box.
the 12v power socket and these 2 unknown plugs connect into the other green plug on the control box.

the 4 way (with 3 pins in it ) has red, black, white wires going to it.
the 12 way plug (with 10 wires going to it) has white , red, brown, black on the top row. and black, purple, green, blue, brown, yellow on the bottom row

Have you looked under drivers seat? The one with power supply and aux socket defo connects under there on mine.

The one with red, black and white wires sounds like it is the output to DVD player to me,it's been a long time since I sorted mine out but I can partially remember how the wiring goes.

I am fairly sure the connection for both is under drivers seat before diverting off to front of car and rear quarter area.

I'm going to be manually wiring this in.  Does anyone have the pin outs for these two plugs please

I cannot remember which is which but if you get a meter on continuity from power socket you can work it out. Wire to middle will be perm live,to outer will be earth so the remaining wire will be switched live from the radio (electric aerial feed)

The system has to see the permanent live before it sees the switched feed from radio.

Ok,  so on the smaller plug I have connected the red to 12v, the black to earth.

At this point I have the dvd accepting a disc and I can see both screen backlights are on but no images on the screen.  What next

And thank you for your help so far. Much appreciated.

Have you also got a supply on the 3rd wire as the system needs that to work. This is the switched feed from radio.
Did you have a look under drivers seat for a spare plug?

I don't have anything under the seat,  I'm trying to retro fit this in from scratch mate.
