So i have a 1998 1.9tdi sharan,i turned off the ignition and left the key inside and the dashboard and interior lights started flickering and i could smell a bit of smoke but nothing was smoking and it started right up? Does anyone know anything?

I also unplugged the negative terminal on the battery before leaving the car.

Sounds like some kind of electrical short, without knowing what the source of the smoke was it's impossible to give much more advice other than keep a close eye on it, the last thing you want to happen is for it to progress and cause a vehicle fire!
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Now i tried and it reads no fault codes or anything , no smoke smell but when you turn on your lights the airbag light flashes for a second?

100% sure it's the airbag light?
The SRS system is completely independent of all other circuits by design so for that light to be coming on would indicate a problem with the cluser itself.
